Cape Baptist Church – Cape Coral FL

VAIcon 100x45As we compile our thoughts for each update, we cannot help but praise our awesome God for the work that He alone has done. What an amazing thing that he uses imperfect people to accomplish His perfect work here on Earth!

One of the ways that we have seen the hand of God working lately is in the hearts of our members. We are so blessed to have Godly, dedicated people who are willing to do what it takes to accomplish God’s will. We have finished our landscaping projects purely by volunteer help from within the church, and it truly is a testimony to God’s grace in the lives of our people.

We are also excited about what we saw this past week for our Easter Celebration! Our teen youth group was able to help on Saturday by setting up all of the tables and decorations in our auditorium, and they were also in charge of making all of our homemade cinnamon rolls! We were excited that they had this opportunity to serve the Lord. On Easter Sunday, we were excited to see over 120 people show up for our free buffet breakfast! We had many volunteers from our congregation cook the breakfast, and they were blessed to be able to participate in this important outreach. Afterward, we took the tables and chairs down and set up our auditorium for church. We stood in awe as even more people showed up, with an attendance of over 150! Of course, the most exciting part of this day was seeing 3 souls trust Christ as their Savior! What a way to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord!

As always, we do ask that you keep our church in prayer. We have a burden to reach our whole community with the Gospel, and we want to do this in God’s will and way. Pray as we minister to the youth both in the community and within the church. Also pray as we start planning for our first Vacation Bible School this summer! Pray for hearts to be prepared even now to accept the Gospel. We are grateful for your past and continued partnering with Cape Baptist Church in this powerful way.

VAIcon 100x45We open this update with praise to God for what He has done in this church! We are so grateful for the people that make up this body of believers in Cape Coral, and we are amazed at the workings of the hand of God.

We have been working on improving our building, inside and out, and are excited about the changes we are seeing! Many of the men have given their Saturdays to come and re-landscape a large decorative island in our parking lot, as well as help with many other projects around the building. Our prayer is that these improvements will be a testimony to those who are seeking for the Lord and a church – that it will make them more open to receiving the Gospel.

Our youth ministries continue to go well and are continuing to grow. It is exciting to see and hear all the new kids and families coming out from our AWANA program! Since our Adult Bible Study has been moved to a smaller room off the auditorium to provide room for AWANA, we definitely hear the growth! It is exciting for the rest of the church to realize what is happening and know that souls are being saved even in the next room! Please pray for continued growth in this area; specifically, for more souls to be saved and for families to attend church through this program.

February is definitely a planning month for our church, and we are excited about the many events coming up! Please pray for us as we plan the following evangelistic outreaches:

  • AWANA Awards Night
  • Ladies’ Spring Tea
  • Our First Vacation Bible School

We truly appreciate and covet your prayers on our behalf. We realize this is God’s church, not ours, and nothing good can come from it except from Him! Therefore, we give Him the glory for all He has done, and all He will do!

As we look back on the past 12 months, we see that 2012 has definitely been a year of blessings for the Cape Baptist Church. We are so excited about what the Lord has done!

A few highlights…

 Startup of a new Sunday School program with classes for all ages : Our Sunday School program is growing! It is wonderful to see people of all ages come out for in-depth Bible study. We are also grateful for the many gifted teachers God has given us.

 Bringing on an assistant pastor & family: Our son Rod, his wife Kim, and their son, Chase joined our ministry in May and have already been such a blessing. With this addition to our staff, we have been able to start up youth programs to meet a growing need in our church.

 A large 4th of July Picnic: Fun, food, and a chance for many to hear the Gospel and become acquainted with our church while celebrating our nation’s birthday.

 CBC’s 5th Anniversary Celebration: We are blessed to look back on the past 5 years and see God’s unfailing goodness and faithfulness toward our church. What a privilege!

 Hosting a well-attended IFCA FL regional meeting with Dr. James Scudder & Dr. Les Lofquist – We were privileged to meet for 2 days and receive encouragement and fresh ideas for church ministry.

 Starting an AWANA program and a teen youth group: AWANA has been a draw for many new families of our community. We are thrilled to see kids coming to know Christ as their Savior and their families attending church! The teens of our church are very excited to have their own youth group as well. They have done various activities over the past few months as well as learning the need for reality in their Christian lives.

 A Ladies’ Christmas Tea with 60 ladies in attendance: It was so wonderful to see so many visitors who were warmed by the hospitality of our church ladies, and thereby ready to hear the Gospel!

 A Christmas musical presentation : Our choir has seen much growth in the past few months and is excited to present a Christmas Musical this year! We are looking forward to using this music to glorify God and help our visitors be ready to accept Christ this Christmas.

Through all of these exciting events, we have seen souls come to know Christ as their Savior, and we are seeing many new families attending our church, to the point we are bursting at the seams for room! We praise the Lord for His faithfulness, and we look forward to what He will accomplish through this church in 2013. Pray for wisdom and direction for us as we move forward in His work and seek to reach our community and the world with the clear Gospel of grace.

We are excited about the growth and new ministries that we are seeing at Cape Baptist Church! The Lord has expanded our area of outreach to the children of our church and community through the AWANA Clubs program! We were grateful to start AWANA this past October, and we have already had a great response! We have seen many children and adults come into our church, and each of them has heard the clear Gospel each time. We are blessed to see many trusting Christ! Our church people are also very excited about this new outreach and have been inviting many new people out! It has been such a blessing to see the amount of people who are willing to help with this new ministry. We truly are blessed with people who have a deep concern for souls. We are excited at the potential of so many more souls—both children and parents—coming to know Christ as their Savior and growing in Him! Please pray for us as we seek to reach our community through this wonderful program.

As we approach the Thanksgiving & Christmas seasons, the opportunities multiply to share the Gospel. Please pray for various events and programs that will be taking place at CBC, including our Ladies’ Christmas Tea and our Christmas Celebration. Many unsaved will be invited to each of these events, so pray for openness toward the Gospel! Thank you for your many prayers and your support. We know it is only through the grace of God that we can accomplish His will for this church!

As we approach the 5-year anniversary of Cape Baptist Church, we are in awe at the countless blessings we have seen from the hand of God!

One of our biggest blessings is the facility that He has provided for us to meet in. At the start of our church, we met in the rented cafeteria of a local public school. Though it met our needs for the time, we quickly outgrew it and started praying and searching for a building of our own. In a very short time, we found ourselves situated in our current building, complete with furnishings! Not only does this beautiful building fulfill our current needs for space, but it also sits on 4 acres of land— large enough to facilitate much future expansion!  We are very excited about this gift from God and look forward to the ways He will continue to use it for His glory!

We realize, however, that the true church is the people, and we are so blessed by the people that God has brought to CBC! We marvel at the wisdom of our God as He truly fills the needs of our congregation through the many gifts and talents of our members.

Not only this, but we are blessed by people who love and appreciate the clear Gospel, have a hunger for the Word of God, and have a desire to see souls saved. We truly are blessed by the people God has placed in Cape Baptist Church!

We would ask for your prayers as we make preparations for our 5-year anniversary celebration coming up on September 16th. Our desire is to give glory to God for the work  He has done in and through Cape Baptist Church. We will be privileged to have Dr. James A. Scudder of Victory In Grace Ministries as our special speaker that day, and we look forward to a wonderful time of praising God for his goodness and many blessings!

We also ask for prayer that God would continue to guide Cape Baptist Church as we move forward in His work! There are so many opportunities, so many needs, but most of all, so many souls that need to be reached in Cape Coral and abroad! Pray that God would give us the wisdom to move forward in His will and His timing, fulfilling His purposes.

Looking into the future, we look forward to hosting the Florida IFCA Regional Meeting on October 1-2, 2012, as well as being part of the preparations for the annual IFCA International Convention in Orlando, FL, in June of 2013.

Thank you for your prayers and support of Cape Baptist Church. Through the grace of God, we look forward to a lifetime of reaching souls for Christ!

God continues to bless and we are excited about what He is doing.

We have begun our Sunday School program for all ages. People have been asking for Sunday School and we are now able to offer this ministry. God has raised up the qualified teachers and they are doing a great job.

Our recorded message ministry continues to grow. We brought in another woman to prepare the CD’s for distribution. She has learned quickly and is able to get the message requests filled promptly.

My wife has dropped another work day as a dental hygienist. She is needed at church and God has made it possible for her to make this change.

Among the ongoing maintenance of the facilities is the current job of painting the outside of the building. The men have been busy planning and preparing for several weeks. The project has been delayed a little due to rain but it should be finished in the next few weeks.
Please pray that we would get more youth in our church. Most of our people are older. They are wonderful but we need to expand into the younger generations.

Thanks for your prayer support.
